I hope they continue to make these.I just love them & will continue to buy them..in my town,only alarms with battery backup are code,consequently no one sells these here..I refuse to buy things that are annoying-ALL the battery powered & hard wired battery backup alarms GO OFF when the battery voltage is low,usually in the middle of the night,& you don't know which one needs a battery-THEY ALL SOUND OFF...this Kidde i2020 alarm is hardwired into your system(I have them everywhere)& they only go off when they sense smoke-they have NO BATTERY BACKUP=NO FALSE ALARMS,OR LOST SLEEP. however:they will not work in a power outage.that rarely happens,certainly not as often as batteries go bad.I will never be awakened by bad batteries again-I'll gladly take my chances with these little jewels.they are also very inexpensive.

Excellent price - excellent product
I needed to replace (3) 10 year old Firex hardwired smoke alarms.
After some research I found out that Kidde had bought the Firex brand and this was the replacement. I also bought (3) plug adapters that allowed the alarms I bought to simply fit into the current hardwire harnesses that were already on the wiring I have.
As it turns out I didn't need the wiring harness adapters (luckily they were cheap).
I did have to shorten the plastic tabs that hold the plug in place - very simple.
Basically it was Plug-N-Play installation. The total installion of the (3) smoke alarms
((1) on each floor) was less than 30 minutes. This includes removing the old ones and testing the new ones. We test these once a week and no problems yet.
You always hear about house fires that could have been prevented if the house had smoke alarms or had smoke alarms that actually worked. The little money and time spent was well worth the
peace of mind these smoke alarms provide.

Just what I had been looking all over for and found on amazon had looked everywhere for replacements that matched the ones we had and could not find any that were exactly the same ,these were. They work great. excellent price and fast shipping

I called kidde and this was the direct replacement for my 3 old alarms (20yr old). Worked great. Easy install. System must have all units and the red wire hooked up before it works correctly so don't get excited until install is complete. Like how all go off together and can be muted easily till you clear out the oven smoke from the burnt pizza HAHA . good product.
