Amazon.com Product Description
If you want to build an integrated smoke and carbon monoxide alarm system, but without the cost and hassle of retrofit wiring in your home, the ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector is an ideal choice. This alarm provides ultimate protection from two deadly threats, and it is packed with innovative features that give you precious time in the event of an emergency. And because it is able to wirelessly communicate with other ONELINK alarms, this device can help you create a whole-home safety network.

Keep your entire home safe with a network of ONELINK alarms that communicate with each other wirelessly.

ONELINK's mesh network ensures you'll hear an alarm no matter where you are in the house.

The ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector
At-a-Glance:
  • Allows for wireless alarm interconnectivity.
  • Dual smoke and carbon monoxide detection.
  • Loud 85-dB siren plus talking alarm for safety.
  • Photoelectric smoke sensor reduces false alarms.
  • Two 'AA' batteries included.

You'll hear the loud 85-dB siren even when sleeping or showering. View larger.
Faster Notification for Faster Escape
In the event of a fire or carbon monoxide (CO) emergency, every second counts. Unfortunately, traditional battery-operated alarms can often cost you precious time. For example, if a fire starts in your basement while you're asleep upstairs, you may not hear the smoke alarm, and it may take several minutes before the heat and smoke reaches an alarm that's close enough for you to hear its siren.

Thankfully, the ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector is designed to provide you the earliest warning in an emergency. When this clever device detects smoke or carbon monoxide, all integrated ONELINK alarms in your home will together, increasing your chances of getting out safely.

Interconnectivity Without the Wires
Until now, alarms that could signal each other were only available in homes with hardwired systems. All ONELINK alarms, however, communicate with each other wirelessly through integrated radio frequency. This means that when one sounds, they all sound, providing a whole-home safety network.

If you already have an existing system of hardwired alarms, but you are looking for an update, simply replace one of the alarms with the ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector--your alarms will continue to be able to communicate with one another.

Talking Alarm Tells You Where the Danger Is
Not only do ONELINK wireless alarms talk to each other, but they also talk to you! Voice warning with location technology means that integrated ONELINK alarms will tell you where the danger is in your home with an actual programmable voice. For example, if there is fire in your basement, the alarm in your bedroom will speak 'Warning, evacuate. Smoke in basement." This feature will help you plan your escape method, so you can evacuate your family as safely as possible.

Accurate Technology Minimizes False Alarms
Utilizing environmentally friendly photoelectric technology to sense smoke, the ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector reduces the chance of false alarms caused by cooking or bathing.

Additionally, this alarm features an electrochemical CO sensor, which is the most accurate technology available for detecting CO.

Designed for Safety and Ease of Use
As user-friendly as it is effective, the ONELINK has a dual-purpose button that silences the alarm and tests the system's function. And because the device emits a loud 85-dB siren, you'll be sure to hear it, even if you're asleep or in the shower. The audible low-battery signal can be muted for up to eight hours (so as not to disturb your sleep).

As safe as it is easy to use, this ONELINK device is FCC compliant for wireless device standards, and it meets UL217 and UL2034 standards for combination CO and smoke alarms.

The ONELINK Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

What's in the Box
Combination Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector; two 'AA' batteries; and manual.

The First Alert ONELINK provides more features and better protection than standard alarms.

5 out of 5 stars Changing batteries too often! Recalled alarms.   February 21, 2008

These smoke/carbon monoxide alarms had an issue back in 2006 and First Alert recalled like one million of them because the "replace battery" light or beep noise kept going off prematurely (the battery wasn't really low, but it told you it was). If you have one of these alarms and you're replacing battieries more than every 6 months (the batteries should last a year or so) you probably have one of the recalled units.

Check with First Alert and have them check your serial/part number.

The new alarms DON'T have this problem.

5 out of 5 stars Great Idea! Makes me feel safer!   March 13, 2008

I bought 6 of these for our 3 bedroom house when they were a Gold Box deal. One in each bedroom, one in the living room, one in the dining room near the kitchen, and another in the hallway.

They were easy to install, but you will need a cordless drill. You have to drill two holes in the ceiling and push drywall anchors in, then attach that mounting bracket with two screws. After that you install the batteries in the alarm, program in, and twist it into place. It took me about an hour to do all six, and test them.

THEY ARE LOUD! I like the fact that it announces where fire or CO is coming from so you can avoid that area as you evacuate. I have not had the battery issue that others have mentioned.

5 out of 5 stars UPDATED - Working perfectly now! Recalled and replaced   January 26, 2008

First Alert is known for great safety products and this certainly is innovative. Smoke detectors that wireless communicate throughout the home is a wonderful idea. Combine that with speech - telling you where the problem is and add in carbon monoxide detection on certain models and we thought we had a real winner.

Here's the problem: battery life is less than 30 days. We are spending $8 a month or $96 year just on batteries. This is totally abysmal. Add in the high cost to buy them and they just don't make sense. I wish I could return them and find something else.

UPDATE - First Alert recalled these! I contacted them as a last ditch effort prior to disposal of the units and recieved free replacements that work perfectly - combined with Lithium batteries - these last for months.

5 out of 5 stars FABULOUS! A Must Have in Every Home!   February 7, 2008

This is one of the best products ever invented! I don't have a very large home, but I've got several of these installed. I called the local fire marshalls to get input when I was buying new detectors and they said inter-connected ones that speak are the best.

It's expensive to buy ones that you need to re-wire to connect. These were simple and required NO re-wiring----only batteries and a few mins. of time. Not sure about the person who reviewed that keeps changing batteries. Think they may have defective units because mine are over 6 months old, tested monthly, and never had to replace a battery.

While the price is a bit more than a low end, simple detector, think about the cost of not waking up when there's carbon monoxide or smoke in your home and they're more than worth it. With the voice telling you where the problem is, you're able to get up and get out quickly. I've gotten all my family and friends to buy these---they're the best!

I bought three of these nine months ago. This morning the carbon monoxide detector went off and woke up my husband and I. We were able to get our four children out of the house. Our roof had just been redone and they had dislodged the pipe that vents out carbon monoxide, so it was dumping back into the house. When I bought these, I thought they were a bit expensive but I wanted the best. If I had to do it over again, there is no price I would not pay.
